Clash between Pak-India to open MMA Asian Championship in Lahore on Sunday

The first-ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Asian Championship in Pakistan is set to commence tomorrow (Sunday) in Lahore, marking a significant milestone in the country's sports history.

A total of 23 teams from different countries will participate in the Brave Combat and Asian Championship competitions while 12 teams will participate in the Asian Championship, and 11 teams will participate in the Brave Combat, which will also be held in Lahore.

The 12 teams participating in MMA Asian Championship belong to various nations, including Pakistan, India, Bahrain, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Nepal, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

As excitement builds, the captains from the participating teams held a press conference Saturday.

One of the key highlights of the championship will be the much-anticipated clash between fighters from Pakistan and India, scheduled for 6 pm tomorrow.

The rivalry between the two nations has always electrified any sporting event, and this time is no different.

Indian fighter Srikant Shekhar expressed his excitement about competing in Pakistan, calling it an honor to participate in the championship on Pakistani soil.

On the other side, Pakistani fighter Zia Mishwani shared his confidence ahead of the match. "I am fully prepared and will give my best in the fight," he said, adding that he expects to deliver a strong performance.

His fellow countryman, Zia Ali, echoed similar sentiments, stating, "I am ready and will give the Indian fighter a tough time."

Srikant Shekhar also hinted at the proximity between the two countries, emphasizing that India is just 50 minutes away.
