Pakistani pop singer Ali Zafar has once again made history through creating Pakistan’s first AI-generated music video which has managed to bag immense praise on all over social media.

Ali Zafar has lately taken to his social media handle and dropped a very sophisticated video of the song ‘Rang Rasiya’ sung by a young singer Nirmala, from Umerkot, Tharparkar, who overcame immense challenges to pursue her passion for music, in her native language: however, the mindblowing song' video exploring the beauty of deserts while also incorporating the allure of modernity.

One can spot in the video a stunning Sindhi girl (AI-generated) dressed like a bride, first diving into a deep water and then roaming and running in rough desserts, probably to pursue her dreams: whereas, a man who is living his desires in the modern world, outside the boundaries of sand dunes.

Ali Zafar has dropped a detailed description in the caption of the video revealing his inspiration for the music video creation.

As per Ali Zafar’s detailed description, the singer Nirmala was introduced to him through a WhatsApp demo by Pakistani socialist Mian Yousuf Salahuddin.

Ali Zafar stated in the caption of the video: “A couple of years ago, I was introduced to @nirmalamaghaniofficial through a song demo on WhatsApp by @yousaf_salahuddin and I was thoroughly intrigued by her beautiful voice and composition skills. But more than that, I was inspired by the idea of this super talented young girl, resiliently pursuing her passion for music with her and her brother fully supported her, while sitting in a far-off desert in Sindh, where basic amenities of life are non-existent, especially the scarcity of water, and where music is a taboo, particularly for girls. Her passion and determination motivated me to promise her the recording, production, and release of her song and a music video.”

The singer further added: "Once we produced the song, I wanted to do something different and special for her video. So, I decided to reconnect with my old self from college, when I began discovering the possibilities of digital art mixed with paint for my thesis in 2002. Cut to 2024, the world has changed, and the possibilities are enormous. Though it has its limitations and requires endless hours—weeks, in this case—I believe AI is the future for many a tasks in the art world.So, I attempted to created Pakistan’s first AI music video. Don’t u think it’s a magic button; each frame has to be created with meticulous attention to detail and countless re-generations to get the right one and can take weeks to assemble a narrative but it’s all worth it. I enjoyed the process and though I am still learning, as is AI, I thought it’s time to share Nirmala’s talent with the world. Here’s to you Nirmala. Keep following your dreams and never give up.
