Punjab govt decides to solarize 7,500 tubewells by next June

The Punjab government has decided to solarize 7,500 tubewells in the first phase of the programme by next June in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
This was decided in Planning and Development Board meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore on Thursday.
Measures to increase export of agricultural produce were also reviewed in the meeting.
It was also decided to appoint the Chief Minister Agriculture Graduate Programme in the concerned Union Council.
In the meeting, measures were also considered for the use of government land to increase the cultivation of canola in Punjab.
The Chief Minister was briefed that in Punjab more than 35000 Kisan cards have been issued to the farmers.
The meeting also gave approval of design and other matters of 9509 green tractors for the first phase and such green tractors cannot be sold with certain features, color and number.
The Chief Minister ordered mapping for making of airstrip for air ambulance landings.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to provide rescue ambulance in every city by determining the need.
Further expansion of rescue training at university and college level was also reviewed in the meeting.
