Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said that they have to leave in a few months but will fix the issues of facilities in hospitals before leaving.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi addressed senior doctors in the auditorium of the Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) during his visit to Services Hospital on Wednesday.
He said only leaders, politicians and bureaucracy are not responsible for errors. As Pakistanis, it is our duty to do our full share for the improvement of the conditions and development of the country, he added.
Mohsin Naqvi said a small effort from everyone can bring a positive and big change in society.
The CM assured the doctors that all medical tests and medicines should be provided in the hospital and advised the hospital staff to come back wherever they are working and work here otherwise they will not get paid.
Punjab CM Naqvi added that the general opinion should be changed because doctors are not responsible for every problem. He said it is not only the doctors but the government that is responsible for the errors and defects.
It is the responsibility of the government to provide a clean and best environment for the doctor to work, he said adding that soap for hand washing, floor washing employee and AC are the responsibility of the government.
Admiring the doctors' job, CM Naqvi said he has seen five children being treated on the same bed in a Multan hospital which was not the fault of the doctors. We should thank the doctor for treating 5 patients at the capacity of one, he said.
The CM said whoever comes into power, starts building new hospitals, and does not pay attention to the old hospitals.
He said Services Hospital located in the centre of Lahore is the face of the Health Department. I visited the hospitals in Punjab and did not see the condition of any hospital worse than the Services Hospital, he said added that his government will invest 5 to 10 billion in a few months for facilities in the hospitals and there is no limit for Services Hospital.
CM Naqvi announced that the Services Hospital will be made into a brand new hospital in a short period of time but if the ownership is not taken then the same bad situation will emerge in the hospital.
He further explained that the ownership of a hospital means doctors and other staff must fulfil their duty hours, if the senior doctors do not complete the duty hours in the hospital, the lower staff will also not complete the duty.
He asked the doctors that they become the owner of this hospital and work day and night for it and make all efforts for the hospital as they do to make their home beautiful.
If the effort is done with heart, the best result comes and the cotton production target in Punjab is an example of it, he said.
The CM said after completing the official duty, the doctor should do his personal work.
He lauded the services of the hospital team and the Secretary Housing. He also assured the hospital management to take steps to provide the necessary injections for the stroke.
On this occasion, the CM also issued immediate orders on suggestions and recommendations of doctors.
The principal of the SIMS also gave a detailed briefing to the CM about the affairs of the Services Hospital.

Earlier, Punjab CM Syed Mohsin Naqvi inspected the upgradation Medical Unit-I in the hospital and praised the facilities provided for patients.
