Punjab CM bans cleaning by students in schools across the province

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has banned cleaning in schools by children across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CM issued the orders during his visit to Government Junior Model High School Model Town in Lahore on Thursday.
The Chief Minister also ordered to provide face mask to all school students free of cost in all the smog affected cities including Lahore.
He took notice of broken furniture, damaged whiteboards, dilapidated doors, poor sanitation, sports activities stopped, peeling paint in classrooms and cobwebs.
Seeing the plight of the school, the Chief Minister called the Education Minister Mansoor Qadir, the Secretary Schools Education and the Chief Executive Officer Schools Education to the school.
The Chief Minister instructed Secretary Schools Education to issue notification and ensure implementation.
He said action will be taken against the principal and headmaster if there is a complaint about cleanliness from the children.
He issued instructions for fixing wash rooms and water coolers and ensuring supply of clean water.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered to return the money of children who bought textbooks from the market.
He assured that sports activities will be resumed in the school and provincial advisor Wahab Riaz himself will come to school and will play cricket with the children.
New furniture and white board will be provided in the school soon, said Mohsen Naqvi.
He issued Instructions for immediate painting of the windows, doors and paint of the classrooms, provision of canteen facility for children in school.
He said that the computer lab should be made functional and new computers should be brought.
During his visit of school CM Muhsin Naqvi met with students in their class rooms and inquired about their problems.
Talking to the CM, students complained that they have to clean the class rooms daily on which CM banned cleaning by students in all schools.
He also ordered to increase number of cleaning staff in the school. He said that he will visit the school again.
