The Lahore High Court (LHC) will take up the plea of the wife of former Punjab CM Parvez Elahi for contempt of court and action against Islamabad police for arresting Parvez despite the court order

The court will hear the plea on September 4 as an urgent case.

DIG Investigation Imran is made part in the contempt of court plea and DIG Operations Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi is too named

According to the petition, the Lahore High Court ordered the release of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and asked the police to take Parvez home.

But, it added Chaudhry Parvez was arrested by the Islamabad Police on his way home from the high court.

 

On disobeying the order, DIG Investigation and DIG Operations should face contempt of court, the wife of ex-CM requested, adding the court should secure the release of her husband.
