Delay in the payments of salaries to the teachers and other employees of Punjab University worsened the situation as the academia is facing worst economic crisis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Besides the salaries of the teachers and employees, pensions could also not be released until now.

The increased salaries and pensions were to be released this month with the approval of the Punjab government.

Taking notice of the serious situation, the Punjab University Academic Staff Association has demanded an immediate solution from the university administration.
