The Government College University (GCU) of Lahore has banned girl students from wearing jeans under the new dress code, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to details, the university administration has enforced a new dress code under which wearing T-shirts and jeans is strictly prohibited for girls.

Male students will wear dress shirts and pants whereas all intermediate students will have to wear uniform.

Furthermore, all students must wear university identity cards in classrooms and the university premises, and whoever violates the dress code rules will be fined accordingly.

The students held objections to the management's decision saying that no university instructs such reservations.
