A notorious dacoit and extortionist named Bagga Gujjar was killed in an alleged police encounter in Eminabad, a town of Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to police, a team of police was taking Bagga Gujjar to arrest his other accomplices when the accused's accomplices attacked them.

As a result of two-way firing, the dangerous bandit was killed by the firing of his accomplices, the police said.

Police said, accomplices of the accused escaped from the spot while firing and police has started a search operation in the surrounding areas.

The accused Salman alias Baga was wanted by the police in several serious incidents like extortion, murder, attempted murder and robbery, police said.

The accused used to collect extortion from the citizens of Eminabad and other areas and spread fear by shooting, police said.
