ECP completes arrangements to hold muncipal by-elections on 65 seats in 21 KPK districts

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed arrangements for holding municipal by-elections on 65 vacant seats of 21 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on August 27, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the Election Commission, Ballot papers for polling have been handed over to the concerned election staff

By-elections will be held in these 21 districts of KPK including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Lucky Marwat, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Upper Dir, Lower Dir and Bajaur districts.

A total of 256 including 102 male, 89 female and 65 joint polling stations have been established for the supplementary municipal elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while a total of 798 polling booths have been established.

According to the election commission a total of 385835 voters including 28964 male voters, while 176871 female voters of 21 districts will exercise their right to vote.

Election commission said that out of 256 polling stations, 159 have been declared most sensitive while 84 have been declared sensitive.

As per the election commission, 65 seats of district councils were vacant due to the death of members, resignations and other reasons.
