Three laborers have been kidnapped from Shikarpur district, with a disturbing video of their torture being circulated online by their kidnappers, reported 24NewsHd TV channel on Sunday.
The abducted workers have been identified as Nadir Jamali, Rashid Malik, and Waheed Malik, all of whom were employed at a private ghee mill in Sukkur.
The bandits, responsible for the abduction, released the video, demanding a substantial ransom for the safe return of the workers to their homes.
Rashid Malik and Waheed Malik, both hailing from Khairpur, and Nadir Jamali, a resident of Bachal Shah Miani, Sukkur, were reportedly kidnapped from the Ghous Pur area in Shikarpur district.
The laborers were on a work-related trip when they were taken hostage, and since then, their families have been plunged into despair.
Zahid Malik, the brother of one of the abductees, confirmed that they had left for a city from the Sukkur factory but never returned.
He disclosed that the video of their torture was circulated by the criminals as a means to pressure the families into paying the ransom.
Sukkur's SSP Amjad Shaikh confirmed that three workers were indeed abducted from the Ghouspur area.
He assured that efforts are underway to secure the safe release of the hostages, stating, "We are doing everything in our power to recover the kidnapped laborers."
