The matches of the 9th season of the Pakistan Super League, also known as PSL 2024, will be held from February 8 to March 24, 2024, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council held in Karachi on Monday.

The meeting at the National Cricket Academy was chaired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf and attended by representatives of all six PSL franchises.

One of the key decisions of the meeting was to retain the six-team format for the upcoming season.

The PCB also confirmed that the tournament will be held from February 8 to March 24, 2024.

The governing council discussed a number of other issues, including the possibility of adding a women's cricket league or exhibition matches to the PSL.

The PCB is also working with the franchises to explore alternative venues in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

The governing council also remembered the late Alamgir Tareen, former owner of the Multan Sultans, in a heartfelt and respectful way and praised his contribution to Pakistan cricket.

The council is expected to hold all matches in Pakistan across four venues: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

The opening match will commence at Multan Cricket Stadium from 7:30 pm (8:00 pm IST) after the opening ceremony, and it will see defending champions Lahore Qalandars take on two-time winners Islamabad United.
