ECP calls JI, MQM-P heads for consultation on elections

As part of its consultations with political parties on general elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on August 28, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In this connection, ECP Special Secretary Zafar Iqbal sent a letter to both the party heads namely Sirajul Haq of the JI and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of the MQM-P on Saturday. 

The election commission has also called Asif Ali Zardari from PPP on August 29.

It is reminded here that the ECP has already held meetings with the PML-N, PTI and JUI-F. 

ECP changes schedule of meeting

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday said that its meeting, which was due to be held today to review preparations for general elections in Sindh, would now be held on August 29 (Tuesday) at 10:00 in the morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The ECP also directed the chief secretary Sindh to attend the meeting.
