PPP CEC next meeting on polls to be held in Lahore

The Pakistan Peoples Party has decided to call the next meeting of its Central Executive Committee in Lahore which will deliberate on the matter of general elections in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
It is expected that the PPP CEC summit will be convened next week in the Punjab capital in which the top leadership of the party including former president Asif Ali Zardari, former foreign minister and party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other leaders will participate.
In its CEC meeting held in Karachi recently, the PPP formed a 5-member committee comprising Syed Nayyar Bukhari, Sherry Rehman, Faisal Karim Kundi, and two others.
The PPP 5-member committee will hold a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner on Monday.
During its meeting, the committee will reiterate the party’s demand to hold elections within the stipulated time.
The committee will apprise other members of the party about its meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner.
In the light of this meeting, the PPP CEC will make its future decision vis-à-vis general elections.
A meeting of the PPP CEC was held in Karachi on Friday.
The CEC members expressed full confidence in the leadership of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
The CEC meeting was held under the chair of the PPP Chairman Bilawal and ex-president Zardari at Bilawal House.
