The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said the nation is passing through a critical juncture where basic human rights are being violated amidst a legal and political maelstrom, reported the 24NewsHd TV channel.
Khan shed light on the ongoing crackdown on PTI workers, emphasizing the erosion of fundamental rights and the impact on people's freedom to live without fear.
Expressing his concern, Imran Khan mentioned that his legal team's engagement in the electoral process prevented their appearance in court today.
However, he assured the court that his legal team would contest the case from Monday onwards.
Khan raised serious allegations regarding the impartiality of the judicial process, stating that the judge, jury, and prosecution seem aligned, likening it to a match-fixing scenario.
He also questioned the source of information of Najam Sethi in which he claimed that Imran Khan would be punished till February 5.
The PTI founder emphasized the necessity for accountability, suggesting that Sethi should be summoned by the court to provide clarification on his statement.
Khan lamented that his trial is being conducted daily, hinting at potential leniency towards Nawaz Sharif.
The former Prime Minister highlighted an additional concern regarding the lack of attention given to their plea concerning human rights violations, which is currently pending in the Supreme Court.
He expressed disappointment over the perceived indifference towards their plea, indicating a sense of neglect in addressing critical legal and humanitarian issues.
Amid accusations of an uneven playing field, Khan criticized the perceived bias in favor of Nawaz Sharif.
However, he expressed confidence in the electorate's discernment, believing that people would not allow Sharif to emerge victorious.
“Everyone is lying about the level playing field,” he said adding that Nawaz Sharif's only hope is from the men in Vigo van that they would manage elections for him.
Commenting in a light mood, he said,” It is a miracle of men in Vigo who made two parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by updating the software.
To a query, “Why don't you talk to the President of Pakistan to solve all the issues” he replied who listens to the President of Pakistan?
