A woman committed suicide in Jahanian because after paying an exorbitant electricity bill of Rs 10,000, she could not buy the ration for her four children, reported the 24NewsHd TV channel.
According to sources, the deceased’s husband Qasim said that he worked on a stall for Rs 400 per day. After paying the excessive electricity bills, there was no money for ration and his four children were hungry for two days, he added.
He added that when he came home, her wife kept complaining about the absence of money for ration. My 25-year-old wife took poison pills when he went to work, Qasim said.
The deceased’s husband said after paying the bill two days ago, Wapda officials did not restore electricity. It also made her wife frustrated and she ended her life, he added.
The bereaved heirs and locals kept crying and cursing the government and WAPDA staff.
