A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court for the recovery of Umar Sultan, the former security in-charge of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.

The petition was submitted by Umar Sultan's father, Sultan Javed, who claims that his son was arrested without a warrant by Islamabad Police on August 26.

According to the petition, Umar Sultan was apprehended near a petrol pump in Sector F-10, Islamabad. Despite filing a report at the local police station for his recovery, no action has been taken.

The petition requests the court to order Umar Sultan's immediate appearance before the court and to provide details of any cases or detention orders against him.

Additionally, it calls for the arrest and alleged abduction of Umar Sultan to be declared illegal and demands an impartial inquiry into his detention. The petition also seeks identification and action against the officers involved in his alleged abduction.

The State, Home Secretary, IG Islamabad, and the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) have been named as respondents in the petition.
