National Coordinator NACTA Tahir Rai made OSD in major reshuffle in federal bureaucracy

The federal government Thursday announced a series of appointments and transfers of senior bureaucrats across various ministries and divisions, as per the notifications issued by the Establishment Division, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a significant move, Muhammad Tahir Rai, a Grade 21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been removed from his position as National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Establishment Division. The order is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
Imran Ahmed, a Grade 22 officer, has been given additional charge as Secretary of the Ministry of National Food Security. Meanwhile, Muhammad Wishaq, Joint Secretary of the Overseas Pakistanis Division, has been directed to report to the Establishment Division.
In other key appointments, Faisal Habib has been appointed as Director of Coordination in the IT Division for a three-year term under the MP3 scale. Muhammad Ayaz, previously serving as Deputy Secretary in the Home Division, has been transferred to the Cabinet Division. Raja Tanveer Azmi, who was serving as OSD, has now been posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis.
Additionally, Muhammad Aamir has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Establishment Division's Overseas Employment Corporation, and the deputation of Jamal Tayyab, Secretary of the Board of Trustees at Mutukah Waqf, has been extended until his retirement from government service on December 31, 2024.
The Establishment Division has issued official notifications to formalize these appointments and transfers.
