During a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube talk show, Unplugged, Vijay Verma disclosed the considerate reason for making his relationship with girlfriend and fellow actress Tamannaah Bhatia public, when other celebrity couples in Bollywood refrain from doing so. Saying confidently: “There can be a lot of struggles if you are hiding your relationship in the industry. You cannot even move freely so it is better to keep things simple and defined.”

Vijay revealed that he and Tamannaah had the clarity that they liked each other. Both of them wanted to spend more time together without making a lot of effort to hide their relationship. Sharing that he never wanted to be caged, Vijay said: "I think we were both aligned on the fact that if we like to spend time together and if we like each other, then there is no need to hide this. It takes a lot of effort to hide a relationship. You cannot go out together, your friends cannot click your photos. I don’t like such restrictions. It wasn’t like I wanted to be out there, but I just didn’t want to be caged. I didn’t want to cage my feelings."

Furthermore, Vijay discussed that making their relationship public does not mean that they have made everything open to the public. There are still many aspects of their relationship that both Vijay and Tamannaah have kept away from the people's prying eyes. Revealing that he doesn't post much pictures with his ladylove, Vijay added: "I have over 5000 photos of both of us, but that’s nowhere on social media because that’s for the both of us."
