Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority Complex, which has been stalled for seven years.

He visited various departments of the Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority. Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the secretary concerned and his team for completing the project with quality.

The project of the Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority started in 2017 and hit a snag while Mohsin Naqvi’s efforts bore fruit.

The PAFDA laboratory will be able to test specific drugs and for the first time, it will be possible to test the quality of agricultural inputs, pesticides and fertilisers, the CM was briefed.

It was informed that the quality check of cardiac stents and orthopaedic implants will be possible through the PAFDA and the lab will also conduct quality testing of cosmetic and  canned food products

Speaking on the occasion, he said the PAFDA will be the best lab in Pakistan.

He remembered the former DG, stressing the PAFDA will have to follow in the footsteps of the former DG to maintain the standards.

“Former DG Ashraf Tahir is being missed. His hard work bore fruit. The Almighty may bless his soul,” he added

He said the Punjab government signed an important MoU in Canada for the youth betterment”

“The next government will follow up on the agreement made with Canada,” he said, adding that he will get a briefing from the team regarding the MoU.

He rejected the rumours about asking the official to go to any rally, saying:

“We have not directed any government employee to join any party's rally. We can't afford it.”

He stressed strict action is being taken wherever a complaint is received.

He said: “Wherever election rules have been violated, we have informed the Election Commission and taken action as per the rule.

“There are a total of 49,000 polling stations in Punjab and around 6,000 have been declared sensitive.

“All the departments concerned are united to conduct free and fair elections.

“We are doing our work, the federal government is doing its work.”
