The poliovirus continues to pose a significant threat to residents of Lahore as the recent tests have confirmed the presence of the wild poliovirus in the city's sewage system, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to details, the National Institute of Health Islamabad released a report indicating that a sample taken from the Outfall Road disposal station on July 9th tested positive for the virus.

The discovery marks the sixth consecutive detection of the poliovirus in Lahore’s sewage this year, highlighting the persistent nature of the threat.

Repeated polio vaccination campaigns in the city have been unable to fully eradicate the virus from the city, raising concerns among health officials and the public alike.
