Election Commission allotts election symbols to 23 political parties

Election Commission has allotted election symbols to 23 political parties for the upcoming elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

During the hearing, the four-member commission chaired by member Nisar Durrani held the decision on the application of the election symbol of the Istehkam Pakistan Party and All Pakistan Muslim League.

The Election Commission has proposed the election symbol of Sparrow to the Istehkam Pakistan Party. The Election Commission says that Istehkam Pakistan Party asked for the symbol of Shaheen, which is already with the All Pakistan Muslim League.

Istehkam Pakistan Party placed the sparrow symbol at the third place in the priority list.

The member of the Election Commission said to the representative of the Istehkam Pakistan Party that they take the sign of a sparrow as it is also a bird like a falcon.'

The Election Commission rejected the request to allot Shaheen as election symbol to the Istehkam Pakistan Party.

The registration of the Istehkam Pakistan Party is still pending, while the Election Commission has directed the party to provide the relevant documents.

The Election Commission allotted sword symbol to People's Party, book to JUI-F, ring to Rabata Jamiat-e-Islam, bucket to Kisan Etihad, moon to Hazari Democratic Party, hockey to Pakistan Awami League, knife to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insanyat, missile to Pakistan Peace Movement, pistol to Tehreek Tahafuz Pakistan, victory to Pakistan People’s Party Bhutto Shaheed, vest to Pakistan Falahi Tehreek, plaque to JUI-Nazryati, helmet to Jadeed Awami Party, telephone to Tehreek Awam Pakistan, thermos to Pakistan Falahi Tehreek and jug to Allahu Akbar Tehreek.

The Election Commission conditionally allotted the Shaheen symbol to All Pakistan Muslim League subject to holding intra-party elections.
