Punjab Police Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar has announced an initiative to facilitate driving licence seekers, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

“Every citizen holding a Pakistani national identity card can now obtain a driving licence from any district of Punjab,” the provincial chief said,

“There is no restriction of any district, province or community to get a driving licence from Punjab,” he added.

The driving licence centres of Punjab Police are providing services 24/7 in big cities, 6 days a week in small towns in double shift, he said, adding that the 24/7 licensing facility has been launched at the Greater Iqbal Park and Iqbal Town Driving Licensing Centers.

He continued: “After the 24/7 facility, citizens do not need any recommendation, bribe or reference to get a driving licence.

“The fine system has been abolished, and citizens can file a complaint in 1787 regarding the 24/7 system.

“The Punjab police will further improve the 24/7 driving licensing facility for Pakistani citizens.”
