US dollar tops Rs284 mark against Pakistani rupee in interbank

The Pakistani rupee recorded another negative session against the US dollar as it slipped further in the interbank market on Friday amid IMF review talks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the State Bank of Pakistan, the rupee depreciated by 88 paisas against the greenback and ended the day at Rs284.31.
The US dollar had appreciated by Rs7.47 during the last 15 business sessions.
On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee had went down by 0.28% to settle at Rs283.43 against the US dollar.
In a related development, Caretaker Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar had reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to ensure the successful completion of the $3 billion Standby Arrangement (SBA) and achieve the country’s economic objectives.
Meanwhile, the country’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) slightly increased by $14 million on a weekly basis, clocking in at $7.5 billion as of October 27, data released on Thursday showed.
