Usman Qadir leaves behind record of 29 wickets in 25 T20Is and one ODI for Pakistan

Legspinner Usman Qadir has announced his retirement from international cricket, sharing the news in an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter), 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.

According to the report, the 31-year-old cricketer, who last represented Pakistan in 2022, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play for his country, thanking his coaches, teammates, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.

Qadir reflected on his journey, noting both the victories and challenges that shaped his career. He expressed deep appreciation for the passionate fans who stood by him, stating that their support meant the world to him.

He said in his tweet, “Today, I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket, and as I reflect on this incredible journey, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude.”

Though Usman Qadir is stepping away from international cricket, Qadir emphasised that he will continue to honour the legacy of his late father, Abdul Qadir, a legendary legspinner.

He plans to stay connected to cricket, carrying with him the spirit of the game and the lessons instilled by his father.

Usman Qadir represented Pakistan in 25 T20 Internationals and one One Day International, taking a total of 29 wickets with an economy rate of 7.95.
