The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has appointed former Olympian Tahir Zaman as the head coach of the national hockey team, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.  

Zaman, a seasoned player with extensive experience, is set to depart for China tomorrow to join the national team and assume his new coaching responsibilities.

Tahir Zaman will lead the Pakistan team in the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy, where his expertise and leadership are expected to play a crucial role.

The Asian Champions Trophy will be the first major tournament under his coaching, and his performance will likely set the tone for future engagements.

Following the Asian Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Hockey Federation and Tahir Zaman are expected to finalize a long-term contract.
