A three-year-old sick girl was abducted from a hospital by loan sharks over an unpaid interest amount of Rs 5,000 in Hafizabad on Tuesday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Hafizabad police acted swiftly and rescued the child, arresting the female kidnapper and her accomplice involved in the abduction.

The father, who is a labourer in the city, told the police that he had borrowed Rs50,000 from the loan sharks, which he had already repaid along with the interest. 

However, the loan sharks continued to demand an additional Rs 5,000 as interest. 

When he took his sick daughter to the hospital for treatment, the loan sharks arrived and abducted the child, allegedly over the unpaid amount.

Hafizabad police have registered a case against the kidnappers on the complaint of the kidnapped girl's father.
