A shocking incident of murder took place in Gujrat city when a tenant set fire to a 42-year-old American national woman, Rashida, who had married him after divorcing her first husband.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the woman had returned to Pakistan with her three sons two months ago.
The police have registered a case against the accused, Kamran, on the complaint of the victim's son, Saqleen, who is also an American national.
The SHO of Rehmaniya Police Station, Shahid Hussain, said that the woman had suffered more than 65 per cent burns and died in the hospital during the treatment.
He said that the post-mortem report and the forensic analysis of the samples would reveal more details about the motive and the method of the crime.
SHO Shahid said that the accused was arrested and was being interrogated.
