NAB 'retrieved Rs7b from January to July '

The National Accountability Bureau deposited and distributed over Rs7 billion rupees to the government and the affectees from January to July this year.

According to a statement issued by the anti-corruption watchdog, it retrieved the amount after completing various investigations and through plea bargains.

It added NAB deposited over Rs2.1b in the treasury of the federal government, Rs259 million Sindh government, Rs136 Punjab government, Rs500,000 of KP government and Rs43.5 million in the treasury of Balochistan government.

Moreover, the statement said, 21, 760 families were given more than Rs4b in 34 cases.
