People protesting against prolonged loadshedding in Bannu went berserk when they stormed a grid station late Monday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the PESCO’s spokesman, over 500 violent protestors forcibly took over the control of the station after forcing the company’s staff to leave it.

“They even forcibly turned 23 feeders on to restore the power supply besides beating up and threatening the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) staff,” the spokesman said, adding the protestors even threatened to bring 10,000 to 15,000 people with them next time they would attack the station.

He went on to say that even after turning the feeders on, the protestors stayed at the site for a long time.

The spokesman informed that since all feeders connected to the station were considered to be high-loss feeders, therefore, the duration of load management was also long.

He said that the PESCO was taking legal action against the protestors.
