BISE Gujranwala employees arrested for increasing marks of students in matric, inter exams

The anti-corruption authorities have arrested 10 employees of the Computer Branch in the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Gujranwala (BISE GRW) for allegedly taking bribes to increase the marks of failed students in matriculation and intermediate exams.
According to the FIR, the employees, led by senior computer operator Nadeem Hussain, changed the marks of 11 candidates who scored between 400 and 500 to more than 1000.
One of the candidates was absent from the exam but still got 953 marks.
The parents of the candidates paid millions of rupees to the board employees for this illegal marking.
The anti-corruption authorities have found evidence of the transactions in Nadeem Hussain's bank account.
A case has been registered against the accused and seven of them have been remanded by the court.
Arrested Gujranwala Board employees include Nadeem Hussain, Zaid Ahmad, Rabi Waqar, Younis, Asad Nauman, Zahid Sarfraz, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sajid Ali, Haseeb Abbas and Arusa Naz.
All the employees together gave permission to Nadeem Hussain Sr. Computer Operator to change the numbers of Matriculation and Inter.
In the FIR, it was revealed that the marks of male and female students who got 400 to 500 marks in Matric and Inter were increased to more than 1,000.
interestingly, a female candidate was absent from the exam but scored 953 marks in the final result.
