Punjab CM lays foundation stone of GOR for police in Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi laid the foundation stone of the Government Officers Residences (GOR) for police at Elite Police Training School on Bedian Road on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi started the construction activities by crane.

On the occasion, Inspector General Police Dr Usman Anwar gave a briefing about the project

Addressing at the foundation stone laying ceremony of GOR for Police, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said a total of 313 houses will be built for the police.

He said police is our first force and the solution of police accommodation and other problems is our priority.

Mohsen Naqvi said that the formation of police GOR will solve the problems of accommodation of police officers and officials.

Mohsen Naqvi said he has done as much as he could for the welfare of the police in one year.

Ownership of the project to build houses for the police should be taken by the respective police families, said Mohsin Naqvi.

“Taking ownership will not only improve the quality of construction of houses, but these houses will be completed in 6 to 8 months”, the CM said.

Apartments for the police are also being built in Qurban Lines and efforts are being made to complete them soon and hand them over to the families, Mohsen Naqvi said.

He said land has also been allotted to police stations across Punjab as many police stations were rented and many in tents.

“Now 40 new police stations are being built and the problem of allotment of land for police stations has been solved”, said Mohsen Naqvi.

He said many measures have been taken for the welfare of the police in a short period of time.

He said Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar worked day and night for the improvement of the police.

No police officer has been transferred without reason in our time, Mohsin Naqvi said.

“I am lucky that I got the best team, my team worked hard day and night and delivered”, the CM said.

The police also performed their duties diligently, said Mohsen Naqvi.

“I congratulate the families who have been allotted houses”, said the CM.

Talking on the occasion, IGP Dr. Usman Anwar said that Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has done a lot for the welfare of the police and also solved the problem of accommodation for the police.

“We sincerely thank Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi”, said Dr. Usman Anwar.

Inspector General Police, Secretary Home, CCPO, Secretary Construction and Communications, Additional IG Development and related officials were present on the occasion.
