Former President and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has asserted that he played a pivotal role in appointing Shehbaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) as the Prime Minister, reported the 24NewsHd TV channel.

However, he expressed deep disappointment, stating that Sharif did not deliver on his responsibilities.

During a meeting with notable figures from his tribe in Nawabshah at Zardari House, Asif Zardari launched a scathing critique of the previous PML-N-led government, accusing it of neglecting the welfare of the Pakistani people.

Asif Zardari affirmed his party's enduring commitment to the betterment of Pakistan's citizens, emphasizing that he had played a crucial role in elevating Shehbaz Sharif to the position of Prime Minister. Yet, he expressed his dissatisfaction with Sharif's performance in the role.

Giving his future plans for the locals, Asif Zardari pledged to establish an agricultural university in Nawabshah. “A hydro system will be installed on the canal to generate electricity to eliminate load shedding”, he added. He pointed out that the agricultural sector will flourish by improving the canal system.

The former president highlighted the increasing population of Nawabshah and outlined a vision for expanding the city to accommodate the growing populace.

He also mentioned the construction of a Girls Cadet College in Nawabshah, providing opportunities for women to advance their education.

Additionally, Asif Zardari revealed plans for a police university in the district, with a focus on training candidates before their recruitment to ensure integrity in the police force and minimize corruption.
