First winter rain lashed the Sindh provincial capital on Saturday night, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The torrential rain inundated various roads of the City of the Quaid while rainwater gushed into the Civil Hospital, leaving patients, attendants and paramedics in the lurch.

Rescuers too landed in trouble water.. The situation prompted Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab to urge people to avoid unnecessary movement.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, he said: “Please avoid unnecessary movement. It’s still raining in different areas. Teams have been deployed to clear the major arteries of the city.
