An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad Tuesday extended the bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in three cases registered under terrorism provisions till July 10 next, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Of the three cases, two were registered at Khanna police station and one at Bhara Kahu police station.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the case.
“In the Wazirabad incident, a fraction of the bullet was left in the foot. The doctors advised not to put weight on the feet for two months,” Barrister Salman Safdar told the court.
“A video is available on how long it took to remove the fraction through surgery. There were two reasons for making the video. One was to dismantle the accusation that the medical report had been forged. The second was to dismiss the accusation that the bullet had not been fired at Imran Khan. In the video, the fraction can be seen being removed,” he added.
Imran Khan denies contacts with PPP
PTI Chairman Imran Khan talked informally to the journalists in the courtroom.
“There is information that you are in contact with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP),” a journalist put a question to the PTI chairman.
“No, there is no such thing,” he replied.
“Will you sit with Nawaz Sharif and others for democracy?” another question was put to him.
“Which democracy? There should be elections. What will be discussed without elections?” he replied.
Bushra Bibi appears before accountability court
Former first lady Bushra Bibi Tuesday appeared before an accountability court in the £190 million case.
The court allowed the former first lady and wife of the PTI chairman to leave the court after marking her attendance.
Earlier, NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi told the court that four notices had been issued to the former first lady to appear in the court.
“Did she tell any reason for not appearing in the court?” the court asked the prosecutor.
“She said she cannot come without her husband,” the prosecutor told the court.
“We had requested the NAB to summon both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi together. We have answered every notice,” Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Harris told the court.
