An automatic M tag has been introduced for the commuters travelling on motorway, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Now drivers, having little balance or without M tag, will have to use cash lane only because no facility of either cash or credit card will be available in the automatic M tags lanes or Express Lanes.

Action will be taken against the violators of Express Lanes under article 48 of the National Highways Safety Ordinance, 2000, which may include heavy fine or challan.

An M-tag allows citizens to pay the toll tax of motorways automatically while passing through a toll booth. The automatic process makes it easier for citizens to travel without having to wait in long queues.
