Nawaz stands firm over SC poll case proceedings

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has reiterated his stance on the issue of Supreme Court proceedings for elections.
In a brief chat with media persons in London, Nawaz Sharif said the coalition government has been standing firm.
"We believe in a bench of four and three, we do not believe in a bench of three and two" he said in reply to a query.
He added his meeting will Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is due today.
The Supreme Court is all set to take up the matter of elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tomorrow.
It ruled on April 27 that there was no change in its April 4 verdict with regard to the election in Punjab on May 14. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) requested a review of the order while the PTI pleaded to enforce the verdict.
The PTI chief, Imran Khan, has been on a campaign for snap polls since his ouster from the prime minister’s office through a no-trust motion in the National Assembly. He blamed his ouster on the US – a claim Washington rejected.
Imran Khan dissolved the assemblies of Punjab and KP to mount pressure on the coalition government for the polls after his march failed to bear fruit.
