The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday issued a notice to Secretary Interior Khurram Agha on the petitions, seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against him for not complying with the court orders, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of the LHC heard the petitions, filed by PTI stalwart Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Rasikh Elahi and Zara Elahi, in which they said that the Interior Ministry had put their names on the Exit Control List (ECL). “And when we approached the secretary for the deletion of our names from the list, he did not listen to our viewpoints,” the petitioners said, adding, “The LHC had on July 8, 2024 ordered the secretary to remove our names. But the latter did not.”
Therefore, the petitioners argued, since Agha had committed contempt of court, therefore, he be issued a notice.
