Access to justice is a fundamental right for individuals and plays a crucial role in improving the conditions of marginalized communities.
Sindh Legal Advisory Call Center (SLACC) established in 2014 has been offering guidance on various legal issues, including the non-filing of a First Information Report (FIR), emergency support for victims of violence, and the legal remedies available when citizens face difficulties in accessing basic public services such as water and electricity, among other matters governed by the law.
The call center manager Rukhsana Parveen Khokhar along with Haya Emaan Zahid, CEO of the Legal Aid Society are actively contributing to empowering individuals through their leadership.
The government of Sindh, as part of the Legal Empowerment of People Program in Sindh (LEPPS), supports SLACC in delivering high-quality legal advice, free of charge, to citizens throughout the country.
The legal advice is provided by lawyers registered with the high court, under the supervision of former Supreme Court Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.
The call center primarily serves vulnerable communities, particularly in Sindh and other regions of Pakistan, aiming to assist those who are unaware of their legal rights. To seek assistance, individuals can simply dial SLACC's toll-free number 0800-70806.
