The Islamabad administration has suspended the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for holding a political rally in Islamabad due to security concerns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This decision was made during a high-level meeting convened to assess the Muharram security concerns. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and attended by senior officials from various security agencies and departments. Despite the invitation, PTI representatives did not attend the meeting.

The primary focus of the discussion was to review PTI’s NOC for holding a political gathering.

The PTI has been given a go-ahead from the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) to hold a rally on July 6 at Tarnol. This confirmation followed a court order directing the administration to resolve the matter.

However, in the chief commissioner’s meeting, the Deputy Commissioner's permission for the rally was re-evaluated in the context of the current security threats.

The Chief Commissioner, after considering the security assessments, the impending Muharram, and the recommendations from law enforcement agencies, decided to suspend the NOC granted by the Deputy Commissioner.

The Islamabad administration stated that the decision to suspend the NOC was taken to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.

"Maintaining public order and protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Islamabad is our priority," emphasized the administration.
