A court in Lahore on Friday rejected the application, seeking the order for the police to register a case against Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz for wearing a police uniform, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his written verdict, Additional Sessions Judge Rehan Ilyas said that IGP Punjab Usman Anwar had permitted the CM to wear the uniform and even a notification was issued for the purpose.  “Therefore, in these circumstances, the court could not order lodging a case against her and the application is rejected,” the judge wrote.

Syed Waqar Ali Shah Advocate, through Aftab Bajwa Advocate, had filed an application in the court.
