Issuing a show-cause notice to the NADRA officials for failing to compile a report on two missing persons, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed the commissioner Karachi, Sindh inspector general of police (IGP) and CIA to submit their reports on the next date of the hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing of the petitions, seeking the recovery of six missing persons, including two brothers, Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto also sought a report from the concerned officials in the case of Zubair, another person, whose whereabouts are not known.

He also ordered that information about these individuals be published in newspapers and pasted on walls.

Expressing his indignation over the poor performance of the investigation officers (IOs), the judge remarked, “So worried are people over the issue of missing persons that now they have stopped approaching the courts for justice.”

“Presently, the situation is quite alarming,” Justice Phulpoto said while addressing IO Saeed Rind.

IHC orders police to trace youth by September 11

Also on Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the country’s intelligence agencies to provide as much support as possible to the police for the recovery of 18-year-old Faizan Usman.

In his two-page written order on the petition filed by Dr. Usman, Justice Babar Sattar also ordered the agencies to share with the police all the data the Force required to trace the teenager.

The judge also gave a deadline of September 11 to the police to recover Faizan.

Justice Sattar said that the Islamabad IGP appeared in the court and submitted the preliminary report. “He said that the police are trying to gather as much data as possible to carry out a complete investigation,” the judge said, and added, “The IGP also sought time from the court for tracing the youth and submitting a report.”

Justice Sattar went on to say that now the IGP would be able to seek assistance from the ISI, IB, FIA and other concerned departments.
