Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said Tuesday that a conspiracy had been hatched against the country through social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He apologised over below-the-belt remarks during the past four and a half years, adding: “I never wish to be Talal Chaudhry or Shehbaz Gill.”
“The minds of the youth of Pakistan were changed through social media. An attempt was made to destroy Pakistan through Fifth Generation War,” he claimed.
“The Arab countries were destroyed through social media in the name of the Arab Spring. People in those countries revolted in the name of freedom and change. Those countries are not stable to date. Egypt survived because its army was very strong,” he pointed out.
“In 1998, Pakistan became a nuclear power to reckon with. So, hatred was spread among people to make them fight against the state. The war on terrorism was brought in 1998 and it continues to date,” he added.
“Anti-Pakistan forces fought their last war in the name of ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’. It was said that ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’ is to be taken from those who wear ‘boots’. The war was fought through social media such as Twitter, Instagram, etc.” he claimed.
“A game was played with Pakistan. The PTI leadership learnt that their government was about to end through a no-confidence motion. So, they backed out of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme,” he stated.
“The petrol prices were reduced. The IMF programme was sabotaged to increase the difficulties for the next government,” he added.
“A game in the name of ‘Why didn’t Pakistan Army stop regime change operation?’ was played,” he averred.
