In a significant development, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir (APPG) in the United Kingdom Wednesday expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and urged the UK government to address the prevailing humanitarian crisis.
The meeting, chaired by Member of the British Parliament (MP) Debbie Abrahams, underscored the pressing need for international attention and intervention in the region.
Participants at the APPG meeting expressed grave concerns over the ongoing human rights violations in IIOJK, as highlighted by the Pakistan High Commission in London via a social media post.
Pakistan High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal provided a comprehensive briefing to the parliamentarians on the dire situation in IIOJK, emphasizing the suffering endured by the Kashmiri populace due to gross human rights violations perpetrated by Indian occupying forces.

Dr. Faisal expressed gratitude towards cross-party parliamentarians for their support and unwavering commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis in IIOJK. He also extended appreciation to the members of the APPG for their steadfast dedication to advocating for the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the session, concerns were raised regarding the plight of millions of Kashmiri women, many of whom have become half-widows as a result of their husbands being forcibly disappeared in IIOJK.
Additionally, Dr. Faisal highlighted apprehensions regarding the fate of Yasin Malik, expressing fears that he may face a death sentence in an appeal scheduled for February 14th in the Indian apex court.
