In a momentous announcement that resonates with the sacred significance of the Two Holy Mosques, a cabinet meeting under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz has ushered in a significant change in leadership.

Renowned cleric Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Sudais has been bestowed with the prestigious role of heading the administrative affairs of Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid Nabawi (PBUH), a position akin to that of a minister.

The cabinet gathering, which saw the active participation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and esteemed ministers, convened under the auspices of King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The proceedings culminated in a resounding decision to appoint Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, the venerated Imam of the Kaaba, to lead the administrative matters of the revered Two Holy Mosques.

This appointment marks a pivotal chapter in the spiritual leadership of the Islamic world. Dr. Al Sudais, renowned for his deep-rooted religious knowledge and revered status, will oversee the spiritual administration of both Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid Nabawi, heralding a new era of meticulous care and guidance.

The cabinet session heralded another transformative milestone with the establishment of two distinct and autonomous institutions – the Al-Masjid al-Haram Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Masjid al-Nabawi Presidency of Religious Affairs. These institutions, directly under the purview of the King, are dedicated to safeguarding the sanctity of the Holy Mosques.

The newly instituted bodies will exercise comprehensive authority over the spiritual affairs of the Haramin Sharifain, extending their guidance to imams and muezzins within the hallowed precincts. A sweeping transfer of responsibilities, powers, and duties pertaining to religious matters within both mosques has been entrusted to these institutions, epitomizing a profound dedication to nurturing the spiritual well-being of the faithful.
