NEPRA announces another Rs2.56 per unit hike in power tariff

Pakistanis grappling with inflation received another blow as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Thursday announced another hike in power tariff, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the notification, the regulator has announced a Rs2.56 hike in the per unit tariff of the electricity in the form of fuel adjustment for June 2024. The additional recoveries from consumers will be made in August bills.

According to the notification, the hike will not apply to Lifeline and K Electric customers.

The increase in power tariff comes at a challenging time for consumers, who are already facing rising prices for essential goods and services.
