Finance Ministry rejects Planning Ministry’s proposal for funds release

The Ministry of Finance has rejected the Ministry of Planning’s suggestion to release 25 per cent amount of the development budget between July-September 2023, and has instead settled for releasing 15 per cent only, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Similarly, it has decided to release 20 per cent amount of the budget between October-December 2023; 25 per cent between January-March 2024, and 40 per cent between April-June 2024. 

The federal government had on June 9, 2023 presented a proposed budget of Rs14.460 trillion for the fiscal year 2023-24.
