Two alleged dacoits were reportedly killed in an encounter with the police in Qabula area of Arifwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Police said that the dacoits were wanted in connection with different cases of heinous crimes.

Police said when they carried out a raid for the arrest of a proclaimed offender (PO), the outlaws started firing at the cops indiscriminately.

The cops retaliated due to which two most wanted dacoits were killed.

One of the slain dacoits was identified as Qamar alias Qamari while the identity of the second one was still to be established, police said, adding Qamari was involved in over two dozen crimes of heinous nature.

Qamari, the Force informed, was also involved in the murder of a goldsmith who had resisted the robbery bid.

Soon afterward, DPO Tariq Wilayat reached the site of the encounter.

On seeing him, residents of the area started raising the slogan, ‘Long live Pakpattan Police’.

Bodies of the dacoits were later shifted to DHQ Hospital, Pakpattan.
