Police beat back terrorist attack on Karak police station

Agile police personnel thwarted a terrorist attack on a police station in Karachi on Tuesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The terrorists armed with heavy weapons attacked the Khurram Muhammadzai Police Station by firing rockets on it in the dark of the night and opening fire..

The district police officer led the response with a swift action, forcing the terrorists to abort their attack and flee.

Only one policeman, Naveed Iqbal, was injured in the intense exchange of fire with the terrorists which lasted for half an hour.

According to police, all the rockets fired by the terrorists could not explode. The police station building was partially damaged in one explosion.

After getting the information about the attack, the local residents used mosque loudspeakers to gather support and help the policemen.

The police personnel started a clearance operation in the area after the attack.
