The most powerful storm of the year in Asia, named ‘Yagi’, has struck Vietnam after causing destruction in China, leading to the death of nine people in various incidents.
In the northern regions of Vietnam, the storm brought fierce winds that tore off roofs, resulting in 12 people missing and 78 others injured.
Prior to hitting Vietnam, Storm Yagi battered China with severe weather, including lightning, heavy rainfall, and winds reaching speeds of up to 145 miles per hour.
The storm uprooted trees, causing the deaths of two individuals and injuring 92 others. Due to the powerful winds, the electricity supply was disrupted for 800,000 people in China.
Storm Yagi made landfall in China’s Henan province before moving towards Vietnam, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
